Copag Cards

I purchased Copag cards recently, and I noticed that they are not straight. When I put them on my coffee table, i can pretty well fit a penny under the outside edge. is this a usual copag thing, or should i be excercising copags warranty?

  • The deck should be perfectly straight.

Try giving them a really shuffle and riffle (like 15 minutes). That should "break them in"

If they still don't live up to your satisfaction, get them exchanged.

  • yeah im gonna play with them today. i already emailed straightflush.ca and they said they are calling copag. thanks for the advice. :D
  • HAHAHA Copag emailed me back, they wanted me to send 5 cards of each deck, plus the guarantee cards to their head office in BRazil. YEAH, NO THANKS!!!! Ive dealt with the Brazillian mail system before. It sucks.

Thankfully the guy at straightflush is going to take care of it for me. I mailed him pictures, and hes like holy s***, mail me 5 of each and ill send you a deck today. The red deck wasnt that bad but the blue deck was horrible. I tried attatching pictures, but I dont know how to make them small.
  • I'm ignorant. Are copag a specialty card?
Do they have super powers or something?

    Why are they so special?

    Copags (and KEMs) are special.

They are make from plastic instead of cardboard. They last up to 100 times (at least) longer than other decks of cheaper quality. I've seen a deck of Bicycles be totally useless after one tournament, but Copags and KEMS are good for years. Once, I left a single card (KEM) in my pocket, and it went through the wash!!! But after I shuffled it back into the deck, everything was fine!!

That being said, the higher quality decks are also much more expensive. A deck of Copags will set you back about $10-$15 and KEMs about $20- $25 EACH. But they are well worth the price.

IMO, if you play more than once a week, you should invest in a deck (or two) of these cards.

wtf? Did anyone else read that?

What was the card doing in your pocket in the first place?

Hummm... let me see.  I always carry a few Aces from as many diferent styles of decks I can get.  You never know when in an emergency, and you need to make the Ace high flush.  Although very difficult pulling it out and then reconcelling it after the hand, very much worth the cost of the slight of hand lessons. (warning: can be fatal if opponent also has Ace high flush) :D

    LOL, no I wasn't cheating.

stpboy was using my :8h from my KEM deck as a cut card. After the game I left and forgot to grab it, so he brought it to me while we were playing football. I stashed the card in my pocket, promptly forgot about it again, and it got washed.

LOL....I don't know why, but this is making me laugh so hard.
  • Perry the cards are Bristol were all Copags or I think he also has Dal Negro's, which are similar. I have 4 decks of KEM's, and 2 COPAG's.
  • Johnnie, keeping an :8h in your pocket don't help much usually. As someone said try keeping a few :ad :as there

  • Copag's will typically get warped if you leave them out in the sun, in the middle of summer, in your car, with no shade.
I sell them in my spare time and had a "demo" deck in the back seat of my car for a couple weeks.
  • i dont own a car, and when the post man delivered them, my mailbox isnt even outside, i live in an apartment. kinda funny how much the topic of my original post changed. ah well.....all in good fun.....
