Too Much Slowplaying?

My opponent was aggessive so I wanted to disquise my hand somewhat in order to extract the maximum.

Too much slowplaying though??

  • Meh, slowplaying in limit is pretty lame.  I'll occasionally just call the 3-bet preflop if for somereason my opponent would really respect a cap but I'm definitely checkraising the flopand hoping he 3-bets me so I can cap or CR the turn.
  • Cap preflop unless you never cap without aces.

The flop is a drawless board, so a cheap card is fine.

Turn is fine. He thinks you are bluffing him off his hand so he three bets to take the free showdown on the river and/or folds to your cap. Potentially exploitable in the future but very risky.

Basically, I think you won as much as you could considering the way you played the hand from the start.

It's possible that you could have won more by playing straighforwardly. Cap preflop. Lead the flop, he'll raise you can call. Check the turn, he'll bet you can raise and see where it goes from there.
  • I rarely slow play in limit games. I probably would have raise the flop and maybe took it right there, you extracted more money by allowing him to catch up. It was a good play.
