what's your record v.2

so the natural evolution of our other thread is the following question - what's the single biggest scoop you remember having.

I define that as a big win that you should probably not have had. This definition is open for examination though.

I was playing $10/20 at a club many moons ago and I hit runner runner hearts to make my Ax flush. With the nuts on the table (and I don't mean the best hand) I called something like 6 or 7 raises through the hand to scoop a pot of close to $1000.

Not the biggest of all time, but one of the most satisfying.

I also remember spiking my boat on the river on party's 30/60 game (it was loose that night) for something ridiculous like $1200 or so. (hit the river Q to tighten up over the trip J's)

Anyone?

  • My single biggest suckouts (online) were A9o over AQs, A9s over AA, and TT over KK (all within about 15 min).
  • Shortstacked, good sized preflop bet, pushed allin on flop after check to me. Me AK, him a flopped set of 3s. 10 on the board though. Runner Q, runner J. Came back to win sng.
  • I was playing heads up in a MTT and I got 5 5 dealt to me so I raised and he reraised all in I had him covered 3to1 so I called thinking he had an ace or something. He flipped over A A and the flop came 2 3 A then the turn came 6 and the river came 4 giving me the str8 it was the first time I ever caught runner runner heads up and the first time I ever cracked aces like that, ended up with 1st place and $2000 I was one happy guy.
  • Not a suckout, but the biggest pot I've won (not NL) in regards to BB size. 9-6-3 RAINBOW will always be my favourite flop
  • Not a big scoop so to speak but perhaps a twist on the question..quickest increase...playing $0.50/1.00 yesterday on PokerNow trying to clear a bonus. Played just once around the table, 10 hands, to 'test' the waters...got KK,QQ,KK,AK raked exactly 9 hands going around once and was up $22.

Biggest scoops for me to date were playing $25NL on Empire (I play micro limits)....got AA twice and called all-ins pre-flop against KK twice and won both, one for about $45, the other for about $58.
  • well my big scoop that is most fresh in my mind is the other day i was at BCC playing 2-5 and i had J-4o on the button, preflop i cold called 3, and flopped two pair and just hit the pot like crazy with 3 callers to the river for a pretty decent pot $150 maybe.
  • i was at BCC playing 2-5 and i had J-4o on the button, preflop i cold called 3
this is my answer to what makes me cry
  • lol, i personally think that the only way to beat 'em at brantford is to join 'em
  • Who knows? You could be right. It would make a much more interesting no limit story. Q3 takes down KK. (hint hint)

  • another of my threads hijacked! and for a flame war, no less!

OP - what was the biggest single pot you won that you shouldn't have?

Sorry to hijack, but no flame-war (Kyle and I are friends)
  • no worries. I am not trying to be a party pooper.
  • is this the worst possible beat you can lay on someone? I was playing in an online MTT, and called a raise with 88. The flop was K high, and we both checked. The turn was an EIGHT, so i had a set of eights, i bet, he went allin and i called. He had a set of KINGS! River=EIGHT! So I backdoored the only 2 cards I could hit to win the hand, heheh it was funny.

this is why they put that 1% beside people who can hit their 2 outter runner runner draws... it happens sometimes, and by that i mean about once ever hundred times.

obviously beanie was joking... i don't bleed chips... unless i'm huge stack, and who doesn't then?
  • Last night I remembered my "river-buddy" Shtebs and I've gotten him a few times live.  AKs vs AKs in a tournament, all-in pre-flop and I hit the flush.  In a NL cash game, I rivered a straight-flush over his boat and a full-house over his flush, and another hand that escapes me.

Now I want to play - where are ya Steve :)
