Rebuy League - 2006

I thought that we might need something to keep us occupied until the next Royal Cup.

The idea I came up with is a rebuy league. This will be a bi-weekly game, running the first and third Saturday of each month. The season will consist of 10 games, plus an End Of Season tournament.

The Games:

Each game will have a $10 buy-in, with an option for one rebuy and one add-on, OR, two rebuys. The rebuy rule will be that a player must be down to half of the starting stack to rebuy. All players will have to option to add-on at the end of the rebuy period. The starting stack will be 2,000 chips, and so will a rebuy. The add-on will net you 2,500 chips.
Seeing as how everyone is hungry for some games other than No Limit Hold-em, the games will rotate.
The first saturday of every month will be a Pot Limit Holdem game, and the third Saturday will be a Pot Limit Omaha game.
There will be a minimum of 8 players for this league. If there is not that much interest then there will be no game. There is also a cap of 24 players(because that is how many fit in my house).

Blind Schedule - regular season.

Level Small blind Big Blind Time
1 25 25 00:15
2 25 50 00:30
3 50 100 00:45
4 75 150 01:00 end of rebuys, 10 minute break
5 100 200 01:25
6 150 300 01:40
7 200 400 01:55
8 300 600 02:10 colour up 25's, 10 minute break
9 400 800 02:35
10 500 1000 02:50
11 700 1500 03:05
12 1000 2000 03:20 10 minute break
13 1300 2600 03:45
14 1500 3000 04:00 I expect the games to end somewhere in this level
15 2000 4000 capped

The End Of Season tournament:

Players starting stack will be determined by their points throughout the season. The Leaderboard Points will be given using the same formula as the Absolute Poker TLB. The Absolute formula is: (number of entrants) X (buy in) X (points for finish) / 1,000
The points for finshes are:
1 300 6 170 11 80 16 30
2 250 7 150 12 70 17 20
3 230 8 130 13 60 18 10
4 210 9 110 14 50 19 - 24 5
5 190 10 90 15 40
Players will get one 25 chip foreach point they earn. For example, if you end up with 750 points, you will start the EOS with 18,750 in chips
Being a rebuy league, the EOS also must have a rebuy. The rule will be that if a player has half or less than half of the average stack, they may rebuy for $50. The initial buy-in for the tourney will be free.
The prize pool for the EOS tourney will be funded by half of all rebuys and add-ons. That means that in a 10 person game, if there are a total of 10 rebuys (average) then $50 will go into the EOS.
To qualify to play in the EOS tourney, you must play in at least 6 regular seaon games.
The tournament will be a rotating game, just like the season. he game will switch between Pot Limit Holdem and Pot Limit Omaha every time the button passes the 1 seat.
The blinds for the EOS will depend on the average stack size, but I can tell you it will be a slow structure, with long levels, and lots of room to play.

So, if you are interested, reply below, or shoot me a PM. Once I have 8 players commited I will schedule the first game. At that time I will contact all players about a start time (no later than 8 pm) and figure out something everyone is happy with. I will be lobbying (to myself) for a time between 5 and 6 pm.

If there are any questions ( I must have forgotten something) or suggestions (I think the blinds need work), feel free to offer constructive critisism. I am also open to changing the day to a Friday game, if there are more people available for that. Once again that will be determined by the people that sign up.

  • *note*
(number of entrants) X (buy in) X (points for finish) / 1,000

Buy in = number of entrants divided by total money paid, including rebuys and add-ons
