the game of math

I've been trying to improve my game over the past months by including "calculating the odds" into my play.

I believe I'm not the only one here that has had a hard time calculating all the pot odds, drawing odds, implied odds on the fly( especially in online games). I have just learned that for you drawing odds you can multiply your outs by 2 if you have one more card to come and by 4 if there are 2 more to come to give you a relatively close percentage. that I can do quick.

Is there other simplified ways to calculating you other odds to be able to calculate them more quickly?

  • hmmm, well i just play a crap load of poker, the more you play the easier it will get to memorize outs, and odds, there are only so many hands and you will eventually just learn them all....sorry i realize this isn't very helpful...but it's true

This gives you your percentage of hitting the cards you need. You really need to focus on how many out you really have. The card you need may complete the opponents hand.
