Royal Cup Final Standings
I would like to thank everyone that participated in the first Ryder/Royal CUp of Poker. THere was a lot of ups and downs but I think the end result was not too bad and very intense.
Congrats to Team Waterloo on the Victory it was well deserved as they kept the pressure on the whole day.
Also congrats on the Kitchener team Heartbreak Kids the runner ups.
Milton Rocks squeeked out the 3rd and final paying position with an intense heads up match by BBC and g2.
Toronto finished 4th
Kitchener II 5th
Guelph (Royal City Suckouts) 6th
Intimadators 7th
I didn't get to mention the Trevor (Beanie) had the dominate individual effort with 2 SNG victories and a 2nd while also winning his heads up match. I will let eveyone know how the urine sample comes back from the Drug test.
I would also like to thank Jeff and the Milton gang for all their hard work for this event in the last week. It was much appreciated and yes Dave I am enjoying that Corona right now. Thanks to Leah Mitchell for trying to keep us rowdy's in check and keeping track of all the results for us.
A final thank you to Acid Joe I didn't get a chance to thank you again for supplying most of the chips and cards for the event as well as a lot of the chairs and we can't forget the sponsored trophies that Waterloo will cherish for a long time; well at least until the 2nd match which will probably be this spring/summer.
Also everyone else that brought chisp/chairs and cards for this event that may or maynot have been used I thank you as well.
Anyways the Corona is done and my bed awaits.
Good night all!!!

If I may make a suggestion...since Waterloo won the event (I'm still waiting the dope testing results!), they should be the ones to host the next event, whenever that is. I think making this event quarterly would be a great idea too.
Again, great job. Nice to finally put faces to names.
Now, somebody PLEASE give Heartbreak Kids some valium!!
Just like to say it was great to put some names and faces together and thank everyone for dome great poker. And I'm happy that we (Guelph) didn't finish last!

A real captain would already know Totally out-captained
I also agree with Mark that the venue was great, but if we ever get 10 teams then I think we
would have a problem getting them into that room.
p.s. Brad - this will give you a few months to prepare your A game like:
I am just hapy that my whole team was there.
That was a victory in and of itself. Next time I will have more notice, and I can tell you that the Intimidators will be back. Big time.
Congrats Pinhead and team. Especially Xuan, you little Firecracker you.
I think it was 4's

Enjoy!!!
When you lose a pot for a third of the chips on the table in Stud with rolled up 8s,
that pretty much sets the tone for the day.
Thanks again to Sandro and everybody else who put so much work into setting this up.
Next time I'll be bringing my decks that are rigged in my favour
To the organizers, I'm glad I could help out with chips, cards, chairs extension cords etc. I have them all and glad they could be put to use. Made for a long day loading and unloading since I do live over an hour a way, not to mention the time actually playing.
To the team captains, congrats on pulling your teams through this and getting this done. Way to much work went into it to NOT hold it. It went off without a hitch.
And finally to all the players, who showed up and played, put up with a delay at the start and even hung around or brought others coffee and food when they were out for the players still in, watching and cheering as the case may be.
yes Trevor, you had a great day. Played you at Stud and knew immediately you were the one to watch. Great games all day long.
Now I know I'm in on this, but seeing as how we reside in the same juristiction Sandro, do you plan on dropping the city limitations, or am I the wildcard team again? Or will I have to look outside of the other city limits?
It was actually 3's
stp
Good game regardless.
That is great news. I hereby apply to be the captain of team #8 - west Toronto. It will be composed of fellow fish :fish: that regularly play in Mississauga, Oakville or Etobicoke.
By the way, I will be participating in another team championship event that will start soon. Instead of single sit-and-go tournaments in one day like the Royal Cup, the teams will play in four separate days of multi-table tournaments. There will be one day of an Omaha MTT, a later day of a Stud MTT, a No-Limit MTT and the finale of a Heads-Up round-robin tournament. The tournaments will probably be held in Toronto. The prize for the members of the winning team will include getting an entry to a tournament which will have approximately a 1 in 70 chance of winning a U$10,000 Main Event seat and paid trip to Las Vegas!
I can only assume that you included me because I was captain of your team, because I can take absolutley no credit in the set-up or operation of this event.
It was all Sandro, Jeff, and Co.
