The news
I've been watching the news for the past couple of days. Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me that it's a half-hour of fear mongering. Fungus in pillows, teeth-rotting vitamins, Hepatitis-laced sugarcubes...
Maybe it's just CityTV. Maybe it's just me. But if people actually worried about everything they're supposed to worry about, we'd all be afraid to go outside and afraid to stay inside.

And The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos is just awesome. One of my favorite shows on TV, for sure. He even did a segment on the boom of poker!!

Other than that, I will always prop up the BBC if you have it available.
Online, if you are a good old fashioned lefty like me check out.

"Why popcorn is killing thousands. Find out at eleven"
Of course I am eating popcorn now!
City has always been that way, maybe now you're just listening.
Maybe it's just you and me.
And George Orwell.
BTW, if you think CityTV is bad, try watching any news broadcast in the USA that has the word "Action" in the title.

Sadly, it wasn't too long ago that it was CKCO Action News in Kitchener. Seriously. It was cartoony.
Fox News is utter hilarity if you want little content and lots of shouting and speculation.
There's a bit Jon Stewart does on the Daily show where they show a bunch of "Breaking News" clips (not just Fox, but they're the leader in fear mongering).
Sequence might go something like this:
"This just in..." (shows picture of plane)
"Something is currently happening with Flight (insert number) in (insert city)"
"Currently we have no details..."
"We don't want to speculate but... (insert a multitude of wide ranging speculation)"
"As always we will continue to provide you with the latest information on this urgent breaking action news story..."
Huh?
