  • What possible hand(s) did you put your opponent on after he makes the river bet of 100?

The only hand I see a *typical* player playing this way up to this point that's worth raising is KQs. I'd expect a typical player to call a river raise with pretty much any other plausible hand that is beating your Q-kicker.

    Some specific things to consider:

    1. What kinds of hands might this player raise with pre-flop UTG? Has this player been doing a lot of pre-flop raising already? Playing loose or tight?

    2. Why would this player check on both the flop and turn, seemingly having given up on the hand (or possibly slowplaying? on a draw?), and then come alive with on the river for 100 To be sure, this looks like an attempt to simply pick up the pot, but do you really put your opponent on a hand *which is beating you*?

    3. Is this opponent timid enough that he *would* fold an Ace on the river? More importantly, wouldn't an Ace check the river instead of betting 100?

I guess the question is: Why raise instead of just calling here?

Just to be clear, I like neither calling nor raising here.

  • what game is this and where?
i thought partypoker 15-30 but its no limit on the river?

    nice bet either way
  • A small pocket pair or ak, aq.

I'm trying to be more agressive but I'm still not comfortable throwing chips around. I don't recognize the proper situations to bluff. I used to make weak bets.. which never worked. And making strong bets can hurt.

    I guess practise makes perfect.
  • Kev, I think the game's a SitnGo. Eches mentioned it was at Level 2.
  • Correct.

    And it's Eh-ces.

    Aces, eh?
  • Makes sense now, stage 2 meant 2nd level of blinds.
Yur name is very good ehces.

You guys treied the newer 30 man tourneys, multi table sitngo's??

The 30+3 NL ones are an absolute god send in my opinion.
