Comedian suggestions

Can anyone recommend a list of comedians that I can listen to? Lately I've been listening to Mitch Hedberg, this guy is hilarious...some serious one liners. And now I have a hankering to listen to stand up comedians.

Here a couple comedians that I think are hilarious(***DISCLAIMER: Some comics touch upon topics that are very sensitive, and I am not promotting them. I just think they are hilarious)

1. Russel Peters
2. Jerry Seinfeld
3. George Carlin
4. Jorge Lopez
5. Paul Rodriguez
6. Bill Cosby (very funny light humour)
7. Mike McDonald

Any other additions would be great.

    My favs:

Robin Williams "Live from Broadway" on DVD.
Denis Leary "No Cure For Cancer"

Dane Cook is also a rising star in the comedy world. He has a good bit about "The Price is Right"

Anything by Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, or Richard Pryor.

    JohnnieH

Also, you may not know, Mitch Hergberg passed away in March 2005.
  • IMHO, I found Russell Peter's stuff gets a bit repetitive, I have watched 4 of his shows, and some are just similiar but just slightly twisted.

Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock are good. I have only listned to a couple of the ones on your list, but I highly recommend the ones above.
  • Steven Wright

Very different, and almost certainly a love it or hate it style.

I thought it was neat that the Pokibots on the original U of A site responded to "poki quote steve" in the chat. Circle of Life.

  • Someone already mentioned it, but I highly recommend Dane Cook. His new album is a double CD and a DVD.
  • Dave Mordal and Rich Vos from Last Comic Standing were amazing. Dave Mordal is a comedic genious.
  • David Cross is extremely funny, and has a few live albums.

I think he releases most of his stuff on Sub Pop Records. Shut up you fucking baby was great.

I would also definitely recommend Lewis Black. There are several recordings of live shows of his available for download, not sure if they are available commercially.

Jon Stewart is my personal favorite, and I know he does perform live, but I have no idea if there are any recordings available.

    Cheers
  • danecook.com and watch the video "heist monkey" I was crying laughing.
  • Where the F**K is the Van!!!????

    (Heist Monkey reference)
  • Try and watch or dload "louis Black": this guy is hilarious. He is on the daily show now with jon stuart but he is funnier when he is unedited. Hes comedy stand up called Black on Broadway was amazing.
  • Gilbert Gottfried
    Emo Philips
    Steven Wright
    Andy Kaufman

I guess I like wierd voices...never noticed till I put these four names on paper.
  • DANE COOK IS OVERRATED AND NOT FUNNY.

    Good selections:

    Mitch Hedberg
    Bob Saget
    Robin Williams
  • Let me get this straight, you're going to say that other people's picks are 'over-rated', then throw Bob Saget and Robin "I'm on crack and can't stop talking, and I'm the hairiest person on the planet' Williams?

    Curious
  • Are you implying that one's amount of body hair takes away from their genius hilarious mind?

Robin Williams and Bob Saget are funnier than Dane Cook hands down. I know I'm right, so why fight you on it?

    To reiterate:

    Dane Cook is overrated.
  • Welcome to the forum....can you please change your name to BBC Z Junior?

Sorry, I have stricter requirements for that designation. A mild disagreement could never qualify.
  • Dave Mordal is a comedic genious.

I couldn't agree more. I actually sent an e-mail to him asking about Canadian dates with Vos. He said, "someday".

Chris Rock may make horrible movies but his standup is brilliant.
