BB per Hour statistic

So, can someone give me an explanantion of this statistic? I know it's Big Bet per hour but what does it actually mean and how relevant is it?

I'm trying to get more into the statistics/math/odds of the game and I don't really understand this one.

I have heard around 3 big bets per hour online and 1 XBB per hour live is a good rate, correct?

Does this mean if your playing $2-$4 that you want to make about $12 an hour online or $4 live in profit?

Is this strictly a limit play measurment? I play no limit primarily and just don't see how this number would really apply. Is there a good measurment to look at for No-Limit.
What kind of profit per hour would you consider successful for limit and no limit?

  • Yes, you've got it. Online some players use BB/100 hands, it works out about the same. Playing 10 20 live you want to average $20-$40/h. Online the same per 100 hands. Of course you lose some edge multitabling, so if you are at 2bb/1oo hands single tabling then 1.5bb/100 4 tabling would be good, etc.

Genrally, in NL cash you state it as average of twice the BB/h, but there's so much more variation in those games it's tough to say what is a good win rate empirically.
