Right Play?

I just arrived at the table, so no read on any player. I just took down a big pot with AQ vs. KQ with him calling down to river.

  • At an unknown table, I would lean towards opening for a pre-flop raise to around $2,500.

After the actual pre-flop limp being raised, I would call with the intention of betting a lot of flops after the opponent has already put in 1/3 of his stack. FWIW, I would have also moved in on the actual flop.

Something that the hand history does not capture: What was your intended flop action after calling the opponent's raise?

For example, what if the flop was instead:

    944
    A82
    KQ3

  • I was going to put him all in post-flop unless the board is 3 overcards. I thought about moving in preflop after his raise, but I didn't want him calling with say AK/AQ and make it a race.
