Sickening Bad Beat

  • I know that you didn't ask for it Big E but on your last hand if you "knew" that your opponent had a low pair then I'd have just called pre-flop and then pushed on the flop. That way you have more chances of making him fold.

My bad beat came at Rama 2 weeks ago when I was dealt JJ in late position. I raised and the whole table called. The flop came down 2,3,9 rainbow and I bet and got 2 callers. J came on the turn to complete the rainbow and to give me a set. Someone bet into me, I raised, button folded and the bettor called. The river brought a 4 and the EP bet, I raised and the EP called?.... with a 5,6. Argh, made my night.

Just happy that I play low-limits when these kind of things happen.

Bang on, I think that is the mistake I made, if I had just called or made a small raise, then pushed on the flop I figure he would have dumped the 5's. Lesson learned...and hopefully I'm improving as I go...problem is I'm like Homer...as new stuff goes into the brain something has to leave, I mean there's only so much room in there? :D
