Fallsview/Seneca questions

Fallsview:
Was there this past Saturday and they were running a 25-50NL game which utterly blew my mind. I obviously didn't sit, but just seeing the giant stacks of greens, not to mention the wads of 100's behind the chip stacks was pretty crazy. Is this the typical "big game" there?

Seneca:
Managed to hit 2 of the 3 casinos in the area, and figure I have to hit Seneca next time. Was there with a group of friends who didn't play much and wanted to play lower limit (ie. 2-4 at Niagara). I found it a little annoying that if I wanted to hang with my friends, I'd have to sit 2-4 (I think they had one 3-6 game going with a giant list), whereas to play at Fallsview you're looking at 6-12 min (which is a little over their comfort zone). I'm guessing Seneca probably has a wider range of limits?

  • Seneca has free booze. Sit at your 2/4 game and enjoy the drunkenness.

2/4 -> 10/20 but the rake is bigger and it's taken on the flop regardless of pot size.
  • Fallsview regularly runs 5/5 NL, 5/10 NL, 10/20NL with a bigger 25/50 NL on the weekends. Fallsview also offers 6/12 L and the odd time 10/20 L. Rarely will you find a Limit game above 10/20 there.
  • What is the rake structure like at Fallsview? How does it compare to games at Niagara, Brantford, Rama or GBH?
  • rake is pretty much the same as anywhere else. NL games have session fees 1/2 NL is at $5/30 minutes and 5/5 is $6/30 minutes I think. Limits games are raked 10% for a max of $5 at 6/12. I would much rather play over at Seneca and the only reason for that is that the poker room there is more like a poker room and less like any other table game in the casino. One thing I dislike about fallsview and casino niagara is that management there treats poker as they would any other casino game and therefore dont take into consideration things like noise etc. trying to play serious poker with all those distractions is damn near impossible. Every other poker room I've been to is separated from the rest of the gaming floor which makes for a nice place to play poker.

  • Ever play at Port Perry's Great Blue Heron Casino?
  • not yet. Is it the same as Fallsview and Niagara?
  • Last time I was at Heron the poker room, or area, was pretty much in the corner of the room behind a nice velvet rope.

  • Sounds like same crap as niagara. Poker area in the middle of the casino separated by a 4 foot wall. Casino Windsor and Seneca Casino have the nicest poker rooms I've played in so far.
  • heard seneca went back to rake on the 1/2NL?

    can someone confirm this?
