For Those Of You Wondering If There Are Bad Players At Middle Limits

Maniac on my right that I'm constantly trying to isolate. Could have any 2 cards and, infact, he did.

  • Just wondering why you wouldn't 3 bet the flop to push out the other guy if he in fact is on overcards. I know it's not a great flop, and I'd consider waiting till the turn to raise a safe looking card (which you didn't get), but against a maniac, I can't see how I wouldn't 3 bet the flop...
  • I agree with the 3 bet flop.

But onto the real story. Yeah, that's pretty bad. Donks with money. Can't complain about that.
  • I guess I agree, but I prefer to wait to see my line after the turn hits. I'm definitely not folding, but a big pair unimproved isn't a hand I want to pound on that board. Especially since I have a tight player acting behind me who is in for 3 bets on the flop. Maybe I was playing a bit timid as this is a new limit for me shorthanded, but I'm not too upset with my play here. Also, I know this shouldn't affect my play here, but the maniac had been hitting every rag hand he was playing, so I couldn't be certain that he didn't actually hold one of those under-the-bed ghosts .
