    Been there. Done that. It doesn't work. And I CAN NOT figure out why which really pisses me off. Windows error messages are so completely useless.... whenever I try to stream something I get "Windows media player cannot play this file. Please connect to the internet or insert the removable media on which the file is located, and try to play the file again".

    I have the latest media player installed and I am connected to the damned internet.

    Apparently Shana Hiatt posted on RGP today. Here is a copy of the text:

    I'm sure you have, but check your network settings in WMP. In WMP 9.0 it's under Tools -> Options then click the Network tab. If you have an older version, it should be under View -> Options then click on the Advanced tab.

    You should see something like this:

    Make sure all the protocols are checked, and try playing with the 'Streaming Proxy' settings below. You could try and set the HTTP option to not use a proxy server and then restart your browser, and try a streaming document again.

    If you cannot see the linked image above, go to your 'User CP' in this forum (upper left) and click 'Edit Option' on the left hand side. You should see a section called 'Thread Display Options'. Make sure you have 'Show Images (including attached images and images in code)' checked off. Good luck.
