Ginormous multiway pot - river bet?

Pretty loose 3-6 table at party... A couple of hands...

Just showing the first because I felt the player with top 2 getting rivered was on tilt in the second hand, hence I didn't necessarily think the limp-reraise pf in the second hand meant AA, thought it was more of a tilt raise...

ScoobD ?  With 4 other players don't I have to assume that at least one of them was on a spade draw?

So what line do you guys like?  Bet/call, bet/fold, check-call?

Comments

  • 1) Standard. Personally, when I hold the flush draw that consists of two undercards to the board, I'm not looking to knock out players behind me because I know I'll get called by the pair of aces or queens (in this case). Now, your raise is still valid as a freecard play. So it's a toss-up between how you want to handle it.

    2) Standard. Raise to face the field with two is probably the only way your'll protect your hand. I'd check the river. You hold a single pair against 4 opponents on the river and your opponents are likely passified by the flush draw also (so you save the river crying call). Do we see four flushes on the river? that'd be awesome.
  • By default, I check/call here.
  • OK, well, I didn't think check-call was too weak tight given the number of opponents in the pot.  Wanted to see if anyone would bet for value given that the enormous pot odds ensures that you have to get a few calls from weak hands.  I guess I was just surprised my hand held up with all the action my hand got post-flop since every single weak draw had to stay in to the end given the huge pot odds...

    Results:

    ** Dealing River ** [ 5s ]
    tread62 checks.
    rexdion77 checks.
    PPokersukkks checks.
    ScoobD checks.
    madcoyle checks.
tread62 shows [ Ks, Tc ] a pair of tens.
rexdion77 shows [ Jh, Qc ] a pair of queens.
    PPokersukkks doesn't show [ 9c, 9s ] a pair of nines.
ScoobD shows [ Kd, Kc ] a pair of kings.
madcoyle doesn't show [ Ac, Jc ] high card ace.
ScoobD wins $122.50 from  the main pot  with a pair of kings.
  • I bet/call that.. even before seeing your results
  • 2nd hand - In a four way pot, I don't see a person who hit the flush going for a check-raise here. The draw is so obvious, and you want to get paid off at least one more bet (liely in a multiway pot). So I think betting might be the way to go, but checking is not a bad option at all.

1st hand - Fold preflop, but you know that.
