Given the recent Jays signings and the fact there there's at least one other Jays fan on the forum (hey JohnnieH) I thought I'd throw this in here.

Tom Cheek, the former Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster who died in October of brain cancer, is among 10 finalists for the Ford C. Frick award.
The award is given annually at the baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies for excellence in broadcasting.
Cheek, who died Oct. 9 at the age of 66, was a finalist for the 2005 award, which was won by Jerry Coleman.
The other finalists are Ken Coleman, Dizzy Dean, Jacques Doucet, Gene Elston, Bill King, former Blue Jays colour commentator Tony Kubek, Denny Matthews, Graham McNamee and Dave Niehaus.
The winner will be announced Feb. 21, and honoured during the 2006 Hall of Fame weekend, July 28-31 in Cooperstown.

There's some stiff competition, to be sure, but hopefully, Tom will get the nod this year.
