Who Folds???

When I spiked my 10 I started my "lap around the living room dance". (It was short lived)
Anyways i wanted to post this hand because I think it led to my "SEAT OPEN".

After the above hand I think I started to steam a little.
The villan has been playing pretty solid poker. Sometimes in this tourney I will mix it up and play aggresive and others times I'll play it tight. This one I was playing pretty aggresive.
If I had won the previos hand I think I would have let this go.....but I talked myself into calling. I told myself things like "maybe he's on a draw, If I win this hand I'm back to where I was" (even though I had lots of time).
What could he call my raise with that made him play the hand this way......
JJ (should raise), AK(should raise), A10, KQ,.
In my opinion this was a terrible call and should have been layed down!

Comments

  • #1 is read specific since the pot is so small, but I'd call

#2 Two pair on a flush draw board, I'll put my chips in every time here.
  • Ifind it very hard to make the fold in the first hand because it's just so unusual and i've seen donks do this with lots of mid pairs that you dominate. I'd have to go with my read, if he seemed solid I'd fold but he if seemed overaggressive/donkish I'd call. I'm not sure i can fold hand 2 (though I would fold preflop QJo is ugly from MP) , there are a lot of pair and draw type hands he could have. Unfortunately most of these have a ton of outs on you but I would need a good read to lay this down because we're getting pretty good odds on a call.

This has become a pretty standard way to play A-K pre-flop for a lot of guys. I would have folded your hand pre-flop unless I had some real good reasons to believe that he was out of line. It looks to me like a classic case of "small favourite or big dog."
