Another Introduction

I thought I'd follow AleoMagus' lead and post an introduction for myself after lurking for a few days.

I discovered the site in a bit of a round-about manner. Last week I was chatting with Felicia Lee (of poker blogging fame) and she mentioned that a fellow Canadian, Dave Scharf, had just busted out of the WSOP in the money. I vaguely recognized the name, but couldn't place it right away. I did a search and realized that he was editor of Canadian Poker Player, where I had seen the name before. That reminded me I hadn't picked up a copy recently. So, the next day I grabbed one from the local Indigo and saw a small ad for this site in there. The next day I showed up here and have been reading ever since.

I've been playing online poker for the past four and a half months. I started off small at the .5/1 tables (at the time, I didn't realize there were smaller limits at other sites) and have since progressed to 2/4 and 25PL (soon to be moving to 50PL, I think). Most of my playing happens at Party/Empire/Intertops, but bonus hopping and various tournaments have started accounts on many other sites. And it looks like I'm going to have to start another at Pokerstars if I want to face you guys at the table.

I've been hosting a home poker game for the past 2+ years, and just recently we've moved to a bi-weekly PLHE tournament format with the popularity of all the poker on TV. It has been a huge success and attendance has swelled, with everyone wanting to bring a new friend every week. I still haven't played in a casino, but I'm hoping to get out to Brantford or Rama this summer.

I also write a blog about poker (http://www.provick.ca) and follow too many poker blogs to count. I'm an occasional visitor at the 2+2 forums and UPF, but there's getting to be just too much poker content to slog through every day.

I was very happy to find this site and a thriving of community of Canadian poker players. Finally I could keep abreast of what was happening locally in poker (though, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much) and discuss things with fellow countrymen.

So, that's more than enough about me. Hello all!
