Day 4 of Wolffhounds Vegas Tour Nov 13-16 (with BigE and Lama)

Day 4

Started like most of the others did, at 4:30 a.m.
After blowing most of my winnings from Day 1 and 2 yesterday I vowed not to tilt off any more.

Boredom again quickly set in. Lama after making an incredible 21 or 22 hands in a row comeback at the Blackjack Tables wasn’t too interested in playing much this a.m. We had to meet up at noon to head back to the airport and finish this tour.

BigE had 1 or 2 more dates with Vanna. Can’t remember exactly how they turned out.
I know Vanna was loose for E at the airport so in the end E loved the wheel.

Played some slots, breaking even, winning 10 or so losing 10 or so. Never really thought to look into the poker room as most a.m.’s had no 2-4 going.

We tripped over to Caesar’s. E hadn’t seen it yet. I found my Kenny Rogers’ slots that I had been missing all trip. Played some Kenny. Kenny and I chopped after about ½ hr.
Cruised back to IP for breakfast buffet. Must to my delight there was 2 2-4 games going. Time to speed through the buffet and blow some more money off at 2-4.

Played another 3 hrs at IP 2-4. Ended up down 15.00 or so. Nothing too exciting. No one fell of their chair, Belfast Phil was back after hitting 11 twice playing Roulette, and he brought the $500.00 back upstairs to lose it there.

The corpse was back. He or she was in seat 1. He quickly called his way through 100.00 worth of chips. Sadly none came my way. BigE won a decent pot off of the dead guy. DG was funny, as you could read his lips “five…five…five…five” river 8, then he’d fold instead of checking. Sadly, I still played worse than the corpse…he still had my chips from Day 1’s J4o 3bets cold to my QQ. He was already dead so I didn’t think hitting him was the right thing to do.

Cab ride to the airport, cabbie mentioned that perhaps the 3 of us wouldn’t visit Vegas together again. Lama, BigE and I said “Na, you misunderstood all our carves…it was a good trip”

BigE played some more wheel at the airport, winning another 40-50 bucks. I dropped 30.00 on Kenny Rogers. Pretty sick when you are still itching to play with one asscheek on the plane and one on the stool in front of Kenny.

Lama was smart enough to call home and get a weather report…tornado like winds in London, snow and strong winds in Detroit….F’ing great. I hate flying.

BigE was wondering where I was at one point in the airport…Lama had the line of the trip with he’s in the can, “he has pocket sausages and is going ALL-IN”.

Last 25 minutes of the flight was pure hell. Even the stewardess’ sitting behind me were heard quite easily saying “WHOAAAAAA, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”. I thought they might have been “together” turns out it was the turbulence. Dude stuck the landing after a wicked fishtail 30ft off the ground.

I was glad to be home…4 ½ hrs later…I crawled into bed, Caroline mentioned that unless she was engulfed in flames when I got home she was not to be woken up. Apparently 4 days away in Vegas is not akin to returning home from War…there’s no happy you are home shagging waiting for you.

It was 3 when I laid down, my kids came in at 7 having found their gifts tucked under their beds…they brought me cereal and juice to bed for breakfast…they didn’t understand what I meant when I said…”where’s the little sausages”

It was a great trip, but, it was good to be home.

Thanks for letting me bore you with my trip to Vegas. No more Vegas till maybe fall of 07…got to get to Disney to see Mickey before I hit the IP to say hi to corpse etal.

Bankroll- $689.00 from $728.00 - <39.00> add to it the toll, smokes some small sh*t at the airport I was down $60.00 for the trip.

    Pure gold!

Gross but funny as hell. Apparently right up your alley, as well.

Any chance she was a bit resentful that you got 4 days of wickedness while she was home with the kids?

Aren't kids the greatest thing since little sausages?

    Great report, thanks for sharing.

There is holdem in FLA. $1/2 limit max. Right up your alley.

Hey kids were going to FLA and we're staying at the Hard Rock Casino!
  • Reason #101 why Moose is a good guy. Thanks for the tip.

Yes Pkrfce, kids are the greatest thing since little sausages.
  • Vanna gave me another $25 at the airport, I love her!

It was a great trip, thanks for including me, sorry nobody got any sleep! If it's any consolation it was a day and a half after I returned that my wife realized I was home?

I was at the front of the plane during the landing (and come to think of it during the entire flight?) and it was some freaky sh#t!!! I can only imagine how the tail end was moving around, it was nice to step off in one piece!

I landed in Detroit with $815, with the stuff I bought for the kids and such I think I ended up a few bucks. It was my first time and it was great, hope to get back again soon!
  • Great reports Guys!! I'm glad the trip was a good one. I still say that if you included the booze, you boys came out WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY ahead.

Maybe this time next year Drtyore, Itsame and I will have some "boring" stories of own, lol.

    Welcome home,

    JohnnieH
  • Excellent report and well written.

Why do I need to go to Vegas when I got more enjoyment out of your report. I don't need to waste 9 hours on a plane!

What?? I don't get to go???

Great trip report all... really have the itch to get down there and tilt off all my cash!

As a bit of a followup report can you outline how you arranged the trip, how you found your best deals, which sites did you bonus whore from to save up, etc., etc? (Kinda of a pre-trip report) I will be going next year and want to start saving for it.

    Rob.
  • Of course you can come, Rob!!
  • for some reason i find myself looking up prices for hotels in vegas..........

i think this calls for a "PokerForum.Ca's first offical group banquett" to be held in vegas.

we shodul all set a date liek 8 months in advance and go.

    Johnny,that is a hellva idea!!

I say we go near the end of July, I'm sure we could find a tournament to enter. Can I borrow 10 Grand? lol

Is there a group discount forPF.ca members?

  • From what I see of the caliber of poker players in the Ktch/Wloo areas you guys (and gals) don't need to save up money or get discounts to go to vegas. The caliber of poker played here should CRUSH the low limit games in Vegas to at least allow you to pay for all food and accommodation at least. Maybe even your air fair as well. I only played low limit but easily made enough to pay for everything except for air fare ($390) including $160. in tournament entry fees. Approx $380. profit at 2/4, 1-3 spread and some 4/8 at the Bellagio in about 30 hours of table play. As Wolff and Big E said, the fish are plentiful and ripe for harvesting as long as you stay somewhat sober... lol... if you want to that is.... if you don't.... then.... all bets are off....

or you can drink yourself blind for 3 nights as E and I did and brake even...you guys decide.

Depending on what I'm doing for work next year, if you guys put together a Thursday-Sunday trip...i can see myself trying to crash it for Friday night-Sunday!!!!!!
