KJo utg final table ???
I played a 40 player live tourney today.
I only received (buried) pairs twice, KK & 22 as well as AKo once.
Before this hand I have only had to show down my hand three times. Twice against an all in small stack.
We are down to 6 players. Top 4 get paid.
I would like to win this tourney but making the money is my first priority.
I am the short stack with 20,000. Next stack has about 30,000.
The table is a little tight at this point.
Blinds are 2000-4000
I am utg with KJo.
What should I do?

I really don't like this mindset but in this case I don't think it matters. You are very shortstacked and as the shortest stack at the table it's on you to make a move. I shove without hesitation. 7 handed I'm not so happy about things but I still push. 8 handed I probably fold under the assumption there is no ante.
Unless the players at your table (which you have described as tight) have recently been playing a lot of big pots for most (or all) of their chips, there is no reason to think that you can wait for 2 more players to bust out ahead of you while sitting on the shortest stack. Even if survival to the money is your priority, you have a good enough hand here, and are facing enough pressure from the blinds, to simply move all-in.
When your stack is down to 5*BB, KJ becomes a far better hand than it usually is. This is generally not a hand you want to get involved with in a deep stack situation, or even at a full table. However, by moving all-in with the short stack in a 6-handed game, there is a reasonable expectation that any of the following might occur:
1. KJ is actually the best hand.
2. You will get some better hands to fold.
3. You will generally not be in very bad shape if called.
4. You'll find out where you're at.

M <= 5, Autopush first in. Weak-tight table + bubble = successful steals.
That being said, I usually play a fairly aggressive game around the bubble, especially if I'm a short stack but not so short that I can't force others to fold. Â Sometimes it burns me, sometimes it doesn't.
Now I'll have a look at the other responses...
OK, good. Â The heavy hitters agree with me. Â LOL @ "You'll find out where you're at".
We are all thinking the same.
I pushed.
To me this was a no brainer but on the drive home after describing this play to a buddy he told me he doesn't like it.
I won't go into the his reasons because they are obviously flawed, but it got me to thinking bad thoughts.
Time and bank roll is at a premium these days so I absolutely hate going out near the money. I would rather bust out first and get back to life. (Sunday afternoon with the family)
I am currently going through my annual losing streak so I am spending even more time thinking about my play.
Thanks for the help guys.
Oh yeah, I push. Fold, raise all in, fold, call all in, fold.
AA held up against AQ and my KJ. Down to 4 players. Oh yeah I forgot to mention, 5th got tickets to the Raptors.
This missing information was actually quite important to the analysis, as there was some hidden incentive to bust out in 6th.

that was cruel and unnecesary scotty ... it only provided incentive NOT to finish in 5th, the raptors are not so bad as to allow me to rather give up the desire for the top 4 payouts
Bubble prize or booby prize?
I move in. No question. Against five random opponents you are a favourite. Push and pray.
