WSOP Internet Qualifiers

I'd be most curious to know how many of the 2500 (?) participants at the WSOP won their seats via playing internet tournaments as well as how many players actually paid their $10K to enter. I know that 4 of the final 9 won their seats via the internet and that the final 2 came through Party Poker. Do you have any idea -- or would you have a clue where I could try to find such information?

  • The final 2 qualified from PokerStars (not Party Poker)
I remember reading that Stars and Party both sent over 200 players.
Somewhere around 20% of the players won seats online. (someone plaease correct me if I'm off on this estimate)

  • Sorry about that. I knew it was Poker Stars but for some reason (perhaps it's my personal 'hate-on') I wrote Party Poker. Thanks for correcting me.
  • In all, about 40 percent of the 2,576 people who made it to the final tournament came from the Internet, Goldman said. Competitors who didn't win an Internet or casino satellite tournament put up a $10,000 buy-in fee.
