Team Canuck at Regina Harvest Poker Classic

I am posting updaptes at www.CanadianPoker.com.

If you see anything interesting for discussion please feel free to copy it and post it here.

Event $1 - Omaha/8. 118 Starters. I finished in 2nd for $7600. Good start. It's always a crappy feeling heading into Saturday being stuck and now, barring a seven martini $50-100 side game, I will probably go home a winner.

  • Awesome Dave!

I checked in on canadianpoker.com a few times last night, and every time there was no update, I was thinking "YES!" since it probably meant you were still playing. :)

  • From supper I have BAD onion stink on my hands. It’s really bothering me. I spend a lot of time with my hands near my face and it’s yucky.

You should have been trying to blow the stink at the other players to get them off their game.
  • Dave,
Just wondering what the blind structure is like?
  • If you happen to run across these bruisers in a dark alley...

...don't get into a poker game with them.

  • hey Dave, was the omaha/8 limit, or pot limit?

    congrats by the way
  • Sorry, I was trying to answer this earlier, but for some reason I could not reply from my laptop while in Regina.

    Limit Omaha/8.

And,the first three events were Tex's Tears. Today's freezeout was Regina's own and it was ... a dissapointing structure considering that it was $1K.
  • I'm never going to Regina again.

Nah, I'm just kidding, I love it there.  But MAN did I ever get smoked in those three tournaments.  First TCP guy out for all three, although we had an uncanny knack for timing our bustouts within an hour or two of each other, and between Bob and myself, it was usually a matter of minutes.

He told me that as soon as he knew he didn't have to buy breakfast the next day, he'd open his game WAY up and consequently bust out.

I have some good stories, though, I think.  Maybe.  I don't know... I didn't take any notes.  But I had a blast... I'm sure it will all come back to me.  The only good news for me on this trip, poker-wise, was the 30/60 I played in until 5:00 this morning.  The tournament reports will probably look a lot like a series of extremely thinly-veiled bad beat stories.  I think I might have been able to get away from one or two of the hands, but I'm not sure yet.  I need to reconstruct the action, and when I do, I'll post here so I can be massacred.
