A few tournament hands for discussion.

Hand # 1

Min-raiser frightens me. My read gives him a good chance of AA or KK (though I found out later I was horrendously wrong) Plus the monster stack is
already in the pot as well, I also have poor position postflop. These are my reasons for only calling the min-raise from the blind.
Is laying down the nut flush draw to the raise a good idea? It's a rebuy tournament, but my stack is comfortable
enough that I really don't need to mix it up too much and I've only invested 50 chips on top of my blind.

Hand #2
I got my money in with the best of it, and got a little unlucky. Does anyone play this hand any
differently? Can you (do you) lay it down to the reraise? I don't think I can. (Still during
rebuy period)

Hand #3

I lost a lot of chips in this hand. This is a freezeout tournament. This player is a little bit wild and could have a wide range of hands. Any other options for play on the flop or turn? I have respect for the other player (Cathaleon).

Comments

  • I am assuming that these are low buy-in tournaments, for example, in the $11+R range. Let me know if I made an ass out of u and ming.

I think I would have played all 3 hands exactly the same.

The first one is an especially interesting hand, and a challenging one to play well. While I anticipate you getting a lot of differing opinions on your play in Hand #1, I actually think you played it perfectly.

  • Yes. these hands are all from a $10+1 Rebuy and a $10+1 freezeout on Pokerstars.
