  • Hey.
Anyone live close to UW campus (University & Phillip) that can give me a ride?
    PM or email me please.
    Thanks.

    Dom
  • For the cash games after the tourney, since we've got two almost full tables, I'll probably run one table as 25/50 cent and the other $1/$2 as long as enough players stick around. Max buy ins $30, and $150 respectively.

I believe Greg mentioned a bus that will take you almost right to his house. I do not recall which one it is, but if push comes to shove, you can bus it.

Oh yeah!  Route 12 can pick you up on University Ave across from South Campus Hall (the label on the bus will read Conestoga Mall, I think).  Probably about a 15-20 minute ride.  Get off at the first stop after the bus crosses the expressway, Braemore Ave.  Follow the way the bus keeps going and my street is on the left.

  • Yea taking the #12 bus was my last option...but I've got a ride now.
    Thanks anyways.

  • Big thanks to everyone who played last night.  I had a great time, even though my losing streak is still very alive!

Congrats to Brent who took down the main tourney!

Sorry I had to cut off the 11-handed cash game at 3:00am, but I'm working 9-5 today  :D

The official announcement of my Keatsway Series 40-player Friday nights can be expected soon.  The cash games will go all night as long my dealers keep getting tips!

    FEEDBACK REQUEST:
What did you guys think of the blind schedule, and do you think it would work in a 40-player tourney with the same # of chips per player?  I want to make sure there is plenty of room for play on the final table, but the game still needs to finish in reasonable time: 5.5 to 6 hours.

    Changes I can think of:
    1. 18 minute rounds (vs. 15 minutes)
    2. 20 minute rounds with antes starting after the 1st break/end of rebuy period
    3. 18 minute rounds with antes starting after the 2nd break
    4. Increase or remove/modify the blinds
    5. ...any other ideas?

    Blinds:
    10/20
    15/30
    20/40
    30/60
    break/chip up/end of rebuy
    50/100
    75/150
    100/200
    150/300
    break/chip up
    200/400
    300/600
    500/1000
    800/1600
    break
    1000/2000
1500/3000 - 18 player tourney ended here last night in just under 4 hours
    2000/4000
    3000/6000
    break (optional/players' choice)
    Capped at 5000/10000 with roughly 130,000 chips to be in play (40 players @ 2,500 chip + ~15 rebuys @ 2,000 chips)

    /g2
  • Zithal would likely be the one to ask about blind structure and such. I thought the tournament last night was great, it was awesome to see so many people that I haven't seen in a while. It was well organized and super fun. Thanks to Mark for not chopping that side tournament...lol.

    stp
  • Great tourney - and I too thank Mark for not chopping.
  • The blinds were a bit quicker than usual but I didn't think they were too bad. The main problem (from a tourney structure point of view) is that must people were half drunk already and so it took forever to play a hand, making it seem like the blinds were going up a lot more quickly than they really were. You could extend levels or add a couple more but like you said you don't want it to go all night. Honestly for a friendly Friday night game when most people are drinking I don't thinkyou necessarily need a slow stucture with a ton of play, but maybe try adding a 400/800 level or 600/1200 would be good because it got going really fast at the end. There was actually a lot of play at the beginning especially with the rebuys now that I think about it.
  • Thanks Mike.  I wasn't paying enough attention to the game once it was down to 6 or 7 players, so I wasn't sure if the blinds went too fast or not.  I like your idea of 400/800 and 600/1200.  I was happy with the amount of play that was allowed in the beginning by the slow blinds.  There are two blind schedules that I am considering as candidates for my Keatsway Series (DETAILS TBA!!!).  I'd like to try each one before January.  One significantly slows down the middle to end of game blinds and the other increases the length of the later rounds.  They both conveniently cap the blinds exactly 6 hours into the tourney (took me an hour to work it out this well!!!).
