Any info on CGTV?
Been away for a while...
Has anyone seen or heard any tangible information on the new Casino and Gambling Television station. It says on the following site ( http://www.cgtvcanada.com/index.html ) that it was to be launched in September on Bell expressvu. Bell has no information or knowledge of it.
Any word would be nice.

OUT
The show on was a whole other level of suck however. It was a British series called the "Celebrity Poker Club". The "celebrities" included a darts player and a club DJ. 3 of the 6 on the show had never played hold'em before in their life. Production values were OK, but they never showed you the player's hole cards until they made a raise or something, so you could make it almost to the river before finding out what the other player(s) in the hand had. I actually didn't mind because I tried to guess what they had, then I remembered that most of them have never played hold'em before, so I was wrong most of the time. The commercials on the channel were excruciatingly long, probably because it is in the "free trial period"1.
The commentators were also brutal, but funny trying to figure out what they were saying most of the time. "She's got him bent over a barrel with his trousers down and here come the big boys!" (said as the river card was being dealt).
1 Do I use quotes too much?
I don't think it's the offical launch till Nov 1st though.
Let's hope the programming gets better; there's only so much BINGO one can watch before slitting their wrists.

Casino Casino- A crap show based on 4 players starting with 20,000 in chips. First they play a few rounds of Black Jack, then a few spins of the roulette wheel, then it's back to BJ. The one with the most chips at the end gets to go upstairs to the Casino owners office where they will play Heads Up. The show I saw had the winner against the owner in a very intense game of "crank phone calls". The winner chooses who goes first, then they push preset speed dial numbers on the phone, the one who calls the front bar wins. I will never get that 30 minutes of my life back....
Intro to CGTV- This is the show I saw the most, BECAUSE IT WAS ALWAYS ON!!! It showed 60 minutes of continuous commercials about CGTV, over and over and over again. Brutal.
Celebrity Poker- As above mentioned, total crap again.
Poker Millions- Yawn....
Overall, I wasn't to impressed with the channel throughout the whole weekend that I was flipping.
