My Deposit Adventure...
Okay,
Here's my morning adventure.
Logged on to PokerStars...
Went to the cashier and selected the visa option for deposits.
Proceeded to fill in my information correctly, and the amount.
Henceforth, my card was quickly declined to due new Visa Policies on On-line gaming. Understandable I guess but a pain in the ass.
Logged on Neteller, signed up for a new account,
went to credit my account using my visa, again Declined. Recieved a quick phone call from Neteller explaining that now over 90% of deposits by visa are rejected, and was told of various other ways.
Logged on to Western Union (maybe finally I can get this to go through), Everything was in order, until I get to the Visa Information, where I see a message
"Some Credit Card companies charge an additional fee for this type of transaction to be completed as well".
So, just wondering if anyone has deposited with a CC& Western Union and what kind of "charge" are they talking about, I realize there is a $35.00 charge by Western Union, but would the CC company Charge,
I use a VISA if that helps,
Very Frusterated,
H.

Possibly Neteller already mentioned this to you, but another alternative could be to link a chequing account to Neteller. You can link a Canadian (or US if you happen to have one) chequing account to Neteller for deposits and withdrawls. This does take some time (maybe a week or two) to set up however.
However, if you strongly prefer using a credit card, I can't think of any suggestions beyond what you've tried already.
ScottyZ
have ya tried using MasterCard?
I looked into the same thing a couple of years ago. I checked out all five candian banks: TD, Scotia, Royal, BOM, and CIBC. All of them offered US dollar accounts but Royal was the only one that had no minimum balance without fees. This was 3 years ago so things may have changed, but i still have my royal US account and it works great.
Hound, if you have the cash available, you might want to use a western union agent. They are all over at places like money mart, or variety stores etc. For a flat fee of $15 Canadian you can send up to $5000. This was my main method for depositing to internet sportsbooks.
oh well...what can you do
I have always used my TD Green Visa for deposits. I never had a problem. My last deposit was as recent as a couple of months ago. I have had cashouts as cashbacks to my Visa with no problem. I have had cashouts to Paypal back in the day when they accepted online gambling transactions, and tranferred that directly to my chequing account, never a problem. I have cashed out to Neteller (before they allowed you to link to Canadian bank accounts) and had them (Neteller) send me a cheque... no problems.
More recently, I have linked up my chequing account to Neteller, so I could make withdrawls/deposits that way, but I have not yet done either. However, this DOES seem to be the easiest way to do things. For those who have not done it, here is how it works: You give them your chequing account information (can be found on the bottom of one of your cheques). They make a small deposit less than $1 into your account (for me it was 18c). You go to your bank, get a transaction history, find out how much the deposit was for, and enter that amount into a little box on their website for verification purposes. Seems to be a waste of time (I don't recall ever having to go through this with Paypal), but hey, ya do what ya gotta do. The whole process takes about 2 business days. After all this, I am 18c richer (anyone wanna play some 1c-2c holdem?), and can make withdrawls/deposits with ease. 8)
