  • Not very easy working in the dark here given that the $25 party NL games can be extremely random in terms of how people play.

I think the only thing you cannot do here is call. You either have to shove (and hope he has a lower pair or AK type thing which many would do this raise with at Party $25) or fold.
  • Without a read I think I like pushing. He might have something random like A2 but I'm sure we get called by smaller pairs or other trash often enough to make a push correct.
  • As the callers above pointed out this is a push or fold situation.

If he has a hand like A2 or 33 you're way behind.

If he has a slow played big pair like QQ you're way behind.

I can't think of any hands that you are ahead of that he would play like this ... nahhh.

Unless you think he has the stones to bluff your continuation bet ... fold this puppy.

  • I folded he showed 66  :'(

My first gut reaction is to push.

But then I thought about it a bit.

  • I think at the low limits you'll see a lot of people cold call with a small to middlish pair hoping for either a set or a "safe" flop. The thought that they're already up against an overpair seldom would occur to them. I would expect a hand like 77-99 to play the hand this way (with 55-66) being maybe the lower end. If he has 33 I'd expect him to slow-play the hand. My only real worry would be someone cold calling with JJ, but a lot of people would reraise this hand. I don't think you can give the average low limit player with no reads this much respect, but maybe that's just me...
