Sad news

I am out in 94th place.

A longer report will follow. Probably not for a couple of days.

Long story made short... I made a bad call and lost 150K to go down to 250K. Then, I got all-in aganist Dan Harrington (one time WSOP champ) holding a 2-1 edge. He drew out on me. Sigh. End of Dave.

Fun while it lasted. Thanks to EVERYONE for their support. It made all of this adventure A LOT more fun.

  • No reason to be sad Dave! 94th place is amazing. Go and enjoy the rest of your time in Las Vegas, and get some sleep :)

Congrats on an amazing 3 days!! :D
  • 94 out of 2600? No shame at ALL! Congrats again Dave on all your play and thanks for the updates after every day. Cheers!
  • That sucks, Dave. 2-1 favourite outdrawn, ouch.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Sounds like you played you A-game. You made a lot of cash, too, especially considering the fact that you won your entry fee!

And, you outlasted a HUGE field. Unbelievable, truly unbelievable.

I think it's safe to say that your performance made following your progress a lot of fun for us, too. My 'refresh' button on my computer will be hungover tomorrow.

Looking forward to all the details you can remember. You keep playing this good and the inevitable will happen soon... a Canadian WSOP Champ!

Great reports, solid play, u r a class act Mr. Scharf. Thanks for sharing.

  • I had no idea you were doing that good until the third day. So I started cheering for you as most other big names were either out or I just really hate them. Anyways good work. I hope to see you there next year. In person lol.
  • Nicely done, Dave! I was telling everyone at my local casino all about your exploits, so you pretty much had all of Edmonton pulling for you.
  • Great work, and congrats on getting that far into the tournament. That's a result to be proud of.

  • That is an amazing result Dave. I remember you posting a few months ago about how you were going to take some time off from poker after loosing 10K at the WSOP (you were being realistic you said). It was realistic to think that, now think about how amazing it really is that you did place in the money. I think more then anything you gained a tonne of respect in a lot of poker circles. Congrats again!

  • ...By the way can we change the title of this subject to "Amazing news!" or "awesome result" or...."Canadian kicks professional Ass at WSOP!". "sad news" just doesnt do it for me.
