Comments

  • What site is this being held at?
  • My guess would be Supremepoker.com
  • Guess i'll have to get an account going there. This looks like fun and i'd love to play in the CSOOP.
  • down mean to be a doubter and downer, but can you explain how the prize payouts equal the buyins? it doesnt seem to me like there is $3000 worth of prizes being paid out:

    CSOOP buyin - $100
    CPP subscription - $35
Copag Card Set - $18 + shipping, be generous and say $30
    Tshirt - say $25

    assuming this:

    1st - $250
    2nd - $225
    3rd - $200
    4th - $175
    5th - $150
    Next 10 - $350
    Next 15 - $450
    Next 30 - $750

    TOTAL - $2550

that's $450 short, assuming $12 shipping for the cards and $7 shipping for the shirts, which isnt unfair.
  • Assume 60 players play.

A typical online tournament (at the $50 buy-in level) takes 9.090909...% of the total buy-ins for the house. That's around $270.

Another $50 since the CSOOP buy-in is $110, not $100. The CPP subscription is CDN$50, which works out to around USD$42. That accounts for another $50 + $70 = $120.

This accounts for $390 of the $450 which is claimed to be short.

  • First off, thank you Scotty.

    Joe:

you're way off on cpp subscriptions. They are $50 a pop. Believe it or not, not a dime in discount.

You're also off on shipping. Check Canada post. Unless it fits in an evnvelope, you're likely looking at around $6-10 per item. Know those neat little card guards that places have? If you want it to have a tracking number, it's $7.

Any and all overflow (if any) is going towards seeding freerolls for this site.
    let's not forget taxes either.

I don't want to undermind the suppliers of the shirts and cards but I'll also say you're wrong on those.
  • I think it looks awesome. Thanks for setting this up! :)

I was assuming the buy in was in USD, if not, then I take everything I said back. All the prices I quoted were pulled straight from the websites of the suppliers. The tournament rakes make sense.

P.S. to Sloth I just want to make it clear as well that I wasn't meaning to suggest that you were trying to rip anyone off, just didn't seem like it added up right, thought there might have been a mistake or something, sorry if it came across that way.
  • All the prices I quoted were pulled straight from the websites of the suppliers.

I noticed that the CPP website (incorrectly) lists the CDN$49.95 subscription fee as "approximately $35.00 USD", so that's likely where the confusion arose for that item.

(As I mentioned, the retail value of the CPP subscription should be around US$42 or US$43 at today's rates.)

  • So a forum on the everybody wins...but nobody shows up?? Ended up being me and another guy heads up. I emerged the victor but feel in alot of ways that I lost. I paid my $50 and now they have indicated to me that I won the satellite seat so worth $110. No free subscription, nothing else. If I wanted to play a heads up tourney I would get the $$$ (and yes lose some to the rake) that I can do as I please with.

Needless to say I am none too pleased, nor would I be if I had had the unlikely misfortune to lose the heads up contest :D It is my impression that the site should have cancelled the tourney if less than say 9 or 10 people showed up...I signed up for supremepoker strictly for this tourney, thought it would be fun...but am not impressed and feel like I have lost out. I have emailed supreme twice and nobody seems to have a solution for me. Am I just being a baby? :'( a whiney poker player (I know, its a new concept!)

    A.
  • I was part of the first "Everybody Wins" event. Of course I was none too pleased also. I emailede Sloth on the forum and he advised me there would be remuneration. I liked that he quickly advised me of this and if you look at the thread of the previous event he confirmed that the players who entered would be given a seat to the CSOOP ($110+$9) buy in event.

However, I have not yet seen anything. Sloth please address this right away.

    Thanks,

    Gonzo
