Patience and Perseverance
This is a little ditty that I know most of you have heard before and experienced. I am relatively new to on line poker and play low limit games of nlhe, mostly .25/.50 type blinds. In any event I played this morning in a .25/.50 game and after about 4 hours of playing I was down $ 30.00 due mainly to 3 bad beats. I took it in stride, barely, lol, but took a break and thought about the hands. I realized that the beats had nothing to do with the way i was betting and logged back in at the same level. Low and behold after about 45 minutes of playing I captured 3 pots all worth $ 20.00 plus. Easy game when you're getting the cards. Later this afternoon I had some spare time, ( when do we not have spare time for poker?), and gained another $ 15.00. So, what's the moral of the story? For all you newbies out there like me, patience and perseverance. Read, re-read, and practice. Stick to basics and in the long run you will prevail. You may not make a lot of money but you will enjoy the game at a competitive level and should come out on the positive end.
