Calgary's Poker Scene?
Seeing as I'm moving out there at the begining of October I should start looking into the action in my new home. I know there are two casinos out there and well that's all I know. What are the normal games and limits at the casinos? Do they host tourneys ever, regularly, semi-regularly? What range are the buy-ins? Any other games around that are worth playing? Any home games consisting of forum members?

the cash casino is a major dump, but all of the big CPT events are held there.
the abs casino calgary is a nice enough place, lots of loose action.
all of the casinos have regular tournaments in a wide range of buyins
Kai's rundown is pretty much bang on. The only thing I would add is to bring money, the good action is 15-30 up and you'll find some very significant pot-limit games (usually 5-10 or 10-20 blinds) where you will need a very healthy bankroll to compete. There are 5 or 6 Casinos in action inside the city and another12 or so Casinos within a 2 or 2.5 hr. drive. Just bring lots of cash. Good luck with the new move.
