Regular tournaments in Vancouver area?

Does anyone know if there are any regular tournaments (either public or home games) in the Vancouver area?

The only ones I know about are the ones that are held at River Rock casino in Richmond, but I'm curious if there are any others.

    I wish I knew, but I am trying to make the early bird this Thursday at the River Rock.

    Yeah, from what I've found the tournaments at River Rock are the only regular ones in the Lower Mainland... I plan on making it out for some of them eventually, but with the hours I work (and the fact that you have to be there hours before the event to have a chance at getting a spot), it's a bit of a pain for me to get out to Richmond.

    I moved here July 1st and still haven't made it to one of their tournaments because of the registration process. It looks like now most of the events don't require that you pre-register two days in advance at least, so now I hope to be able to make it into tomorrow's early bird. Being there at 8 a.m. though... yuck! We'll have to see if I can convince myself to be on a bus to Richmond at 7 a.m..

    Yeah, luckily they removed the "registration starts 2 days prior to event" thing from their tournaments.. I really didn't want to have to take a day off work to register, and then another day off for the actual tournament :P

    But still, I've heard that you have to be lined up at like 7 or 8am on the day of the early birds if you want a shot at getting in, since they only allow 60 people. But, I'm not sure how reliable the source is that told me this.

    If you do make it out for one, let me know how it goes.

    I slept in again Thursday :)

    Might give it a shot on Saturday. I'll let you know when I do finally get out to one.
