Pearl Jam

Had a chance to see these guys live last night at the Aud. Amazing concert. They played close to 3hrs (took the stage at 8:45 and played till 11:30). If you get the chance to see them (think they're still playing London, Hamilton, Toronto), go! And if anyone has extra tickets, I'd be highly tempted to go again.

  • I'm going tonight. On floor and can't wait! Going to see Plant on Wednesday as well. London is so much better with the JLC!

Who opened for Pearl Jam? I can't find info. anywhere.

I couldn't agree any more. Amazing show, right in my hometown!! The last time I saw them was in their hometown of Seattle, Wash.
What blew me away with this show was the setlist. They pulled out almost every great song from their catalog. I peeked at the setlist from other shows on this tour, and none compared.
Jeramey, Daughter, Even Flow, Black, Betterman, Alive and yes, the seldom heard Yellow Ledbetter all were played. The last song was a cover of The Who's Baba O'Reily!!

Another cool thing, before the opening act (Sleater-kinny) Eddy Veder strolled out and played an acoustic number to introduce them.

If anybody goes to the London or Toronto shows, please post your comments here!

  • Went last night and the show was fantastic! About two and half hours have great music by a great band. I missed the opener(s) though. To anyone going to Hamilton tonight enjoy you will not be dissappointed.
  • They have "official" bootlegs of their 2005 shows on their website for download http://bootlegs.pearljam.com. I think I paid around $10 US for the Kitchener show. Of course I'm sure you can find free copies out there, but I don't really mind paying a little...
  • Here's the setlist from Pearl Jam's Kitchener show:

    Hide Your Love Away (Presshow)
    The Long Road
    Last Exit
    Animal
    Save You
    Do The Evolution
    Given To Fly
    Love Boat Captain
    Corduroy
    Insignificance
    Gimme Some Truth
    Faithfull
    Jeremy
    Evenflow
    Leatherman
    Habit
    Bloods Soon Forget
    Can't Keep
    Man Of The Hour
Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
    Daughter
    Black
    Alive
    In My Tree
    Indifference
    Betterman
    Baba O'riley
    Yellow Ledbetter

    Pretty frickin cool, eh?

  • They played in my hometown of Saskatoon recently. Although I didn't attend the show I was reallly impressed when I heard they played The Guess Who's "Running Back to Saskatoon". That shows me that they actually considered where they were playing and tried to make it personal for the audience. Awesome.

I completely agree. Eddie was quite talkative and the band seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves. On numerous occaisions there were references to how it was great to come to a "Big beautiful country" and like many musicians I think they've grown somewhat dissillusioned with their own government (and that's putting it pretty mildly).
  • Another cool thing is how humble Eddie (and all) seemed to be towards the crowd. Like thanking us for thanking them for coming to K-Town.
    Again great band, great show.
I hope they return someday. It was so nice to get home from a show at 11:30 instead of 12:30 or later.

EDIT: The only nagging thought I had after the concert was that if Pearl Jam blew the roof off the Aud, what was last year's AEROSMITH concert like. (shaking my fist) LUCKY RIM EMPLOYEES!!!
  • Aerosmith was good, but Pearl Jam was on another level. And the PJ crowd was WAY louder (but probably larger as well).
  • That's because the RIM employees were too busy answering emails to cheer.
  • I bought scalped tickets to the U2 show last night, and Eddie Vedder came out and sang 'Old Man River' with Bono and Daniel Lanois. No, I'm not kidding about the song. It was pretty cool. Almost worth the amount I paid for the damn tickets.
