According to the Google help area, it seems like Google refreshes/updates it's page rankings every 4 weeks.

If there's anything that boggles my mind most about the internet it's search engines. The network of webpages is simply *huge* and it's amazing that we can find anything at all.

According to Google there are about 3 billion web pages, and since Google also uses the links between web pages as data for page rankings, we are really talking about a (directed) graph with 3 billion vertices.
