  • I would have lost more money then you bud...

PREFLOP: Limp is fine after two limpers.

FLOP: I like the raise here, playing this fast is likely to pay off the most. If BB has something like AA, KK, JJ, TT hes gonna slow down completely on the big bet streets...but is liable to go wild on the flop. Also, youd love to get dry queens pumping as well.

TURN: I would have capped the turn. A 3bet on this board is more likely to be a strong queen, and Im discounting 88 heavily because of his preflop raise. Add to the fact that you have UTG+1 kicking around for the ride, likely holding a queen (minimizing the likelihood of quads) or a diamond draw, more often then not, this should be a cap.

RIVER: Given your non-cap on the turn, I raise the river, and call a 3bet. Again the only reasonable hands that beat you are 88 and QQ...88 isnt likely because he raised out of the BB...and Quads are so rare, i make people show them to me before I believe.
  • As soon as the board came up with two face cards, you have to assume trips, possible boat. Since your boat is 4's over Q's, there was a good chance someone made a trip Q's, and possibly a higher boat.

It happens. You want to play your boat to maximize your win, forgettign that a higher boat MAY be out there.

You didn't play it wrong, and alot of players would go broke on this hand too.
  • i think you played it like a wuss

    raise and re-raise!
  • Ditto, I pump all the way through.
