a long break from poker. now what?

after reading the 'forrest gump moment' post, i started wondering..

have any of you taken a relatively long to long break from the game? if so, how did you get back into form--or did you at all?

i dont consider myself having played very much real poker in the last 3-4 months. ive played half-hearted poker with buddies but thats about it. the freeroll was the only organized game ive played in that time, and even then it was surely not my 'a' game (even though i got lucky).

i have to say that to be honest my confidence is not up to par. id been playing and studying poker for almost a year before these 3-4 months and within this time i was a winning player (esp. considering i play low limits). but i almost feel like a different person now. i feel as if ive forgotten most of what ive learned and am playing just based on instinct and guessing

should i reread books? should i play a while just for the fun of it and not worry so much about winning money? should i just play more and practice? or does this mean that ive finally internalized what ive read and learned over the years (most unlikely, i think lol)?

if you dont know the reasoning behind your play, odds are your probably missing out on quite a bit of profit.
poker can be an extremely counterintuitive game a lot of the time...it cant hurt to start from scratch and relearn everything you may have forgotten...or unlearn some of the bad habits you may have picked up during your off period.

id suggest winning low limit hold'em by lee jones if youd like to do some reading
