Poker Table

So i'm going to build a poker table, I could buy one but there's something about building stuff that make me happy. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone here has attempted to do this and what were your results like, your final cost and how long did it take. I'm getting my plans from homepokertourny.com where theres a bunch of different styles to choose from.

  • I have built several tables. My pride is the racetrack table which seats 10 quite comfy. What ever you do buy rent steal an air compressor and air powered staple gun.. It's REALLY worth it. My table cost about $300 but I used 1 inch foam for the rail 5/8 plywood so it's very heavy and very sturdy. I built it on a weekend so it doesn't take a lot of time. My other table is an octogon which seats 8 with cup holders. Very cheap but does the purpose. If you have any questions pm me here or acidjoe@mindless.com
  • Here is my table http://home.cogeco.ca/~chines/. It cost me about $260, a six-pack of Keith's and a full afternoon to finish. I love it. What do you think???
  • your table looks great, I'm not too sure I'd want lights in mine but it does look cool
  • Pick a style you like from homepokertourney, then head over to www.scottkeen.com/forum and sign up for an account

that forum will be by far the most integral resource for making sure your table comes out great
  • Here is one I am finishing right now. This picture is before I put in the jumbo stainless steel drink holders and stain/poly. I ordered the foams, vinyl and velveteen from yourautotrim.com so did spend a lot making this table. The top piece with the centre and racetrack is maple. I'm almost finished the staining and ploy. I am using polyshades which is stain and poly mixed together.
  • OK it's finished. Please feel free to praise or critisize.

  • Looks great.

Only complaint that I would have is that the cupholders aren't already full of pints!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Well done.

I have played on this table, and it is one fine table!!! Joe has skills :D
  • Where can I get these materials without ordering?

Foam for the rail and table.
Table top material like velveteen or speed cloth.
    What type of wood?
    Glue, poly? etc.etc.

Any recommendations on what materials I should use?

    Thanks.
