Poker s/w- Wilson Turbo vs. Poki Software and Aceofspades

I am currently playing limit hold'em on the Wilson Texas Turbo and am wondering if anyone out there has played with some of the other hold'em software available?

The two that I am looking at are the ones made by
Aceofspade and Poki. The website can be found at the following urls:
www.aceofspade.com
www.poki-poker.com

Most of the books I have read (Dave's included) all recommend Turbo but has anyone even tried the others?

The Poki is particularly interesting because it is developed by Canadians at the U. of Alberta Games club.

Any feedback on these software or any others and how they compare to Turbo will be appreciated.

thanks,

  • I know of Poki but have not seen it and cannot comment.

AceofSpades, when I saw it in 1998, was very inferior to Turbo.
  • The guy in charge of the research group at U of A that is developing Poki gave a talk here (U Waterloo) a couple months ago and was quite impressive. I played Poki online years ago and it was solid -- also they have totally new algorithms for the commercial version and I expect it will be a very tough opponent. Only for limit
hold'em though -- apparently there are still too many degrees of freedom with no-limit, they can't get an effective solution to that yet.
