Need help with a Mac computer

Hey all - Just got an Imac G5 two days ago as my old PC crashed. I was pretty dissapointed last night to find out that Stars and Paradise software does not work on a Mac. I have heard some other people running something called a virtual PC on there Mac to run the poker sights. Does that sound familiar to anyone? Need some help please otherwise my online days are done without the investment of another PC.

I am surprised that with 30% of people now owning Macs that the poker sights do not support them. Opening up your business to 30% more people only seems logical.

Thanks,

Goms

  • Actually, while Mac use is growing faster than normal PC's, they still only have just under 5% of the PC market.

As far as running Windows software, OS-X is based on Unix, so you may be able to get the WINE project working (try http://darwine.opendarwin.org// which is a Mac version of WINE). However, I don't use a Mac, so this is just a guess.
  • Pokerroom supports the Mac. http://www.pokerroom.com/
I think the cardroom runs within your web browser.
  • I have a mac and play at pokerroom.com. I also use Virtual PC to play on Stars. Pokerroom has a download version and one that you can play from your browser (java pop-up).
  • thanks for the help - how do you get a virtual PC?
