How do you handle tilt? Online and live........

Online I used to question the person's play like going for runner runner and cracking my aces but they end up just trying to piss you off more.

Now when I get busted online from a bad beat, I jump and just start swinging at the air like a crazy a$$.

In live situations I just say nice hand, although I want to do the crazy swinging thing....

I took a screen cap of when I sucked out this guy with Aces and I had pocket 5's to make a runner runner straight, he was non to happy but I didn't try to make him more pissed since I know that sucks

  • Depends on the situtation.

I think that everone would agree that when you screw yourself over, thats when the real "tilting" happens. I usually only get REALLY steamed when I misplay (often still, I admit) a hand and lose most/all of my chips. How many times do you hear "Why I did call/raise/go all in? I knew I was beat!!"

But I like to think that I treat suck-outs differently. If you get sucked out on runner-runner something, well that's poker. What can you do? It's not worth getting yourself kicked out, and alienating yourself from everone. Plus you look like an ass. Just suck it up, and if you're out, find yourself a side game!!

Something a wise man (Zithal) told me once "The great thing about online freeroll tournaments is that it gets you used to the suck-outs!"
    Amen brother.

PS ......Happy 250th post to me!!!!!
  • I cant even remember the last time I even felt slightly tilted.
The only real way to handle tilt IMO is to get up.

when your not playing your best...whether it be from stress, alcohol, the hot waitress or hemorrhoids...its simply time to rack up
  • Honestly, I think that if you a bad temper....poker is not for you! Maybe you just have to experience being on tilt many times to be able to control your emotions....so experience does count and controlling the inner HULK that we all have inside.....LOL!
