The secret to winning poker tournaments

You really would like to win a pot like this one, I hear 40K with 200/400 blinds is good. It doesn't guarantee you the win, but it sure doesn't hurt. Sorry if this is bad beat like but what a hand.

  • wouldve been nice to take that one down, tough luck

you cant fault his play too much though - with top trips, i would like to think id raise to 6k on the turn, then get out of the way after the fireworks .... but id probably call
  • I think my favourite part is that all those chips got into the pot in less than 5 seconds, once I made my initial 2K bet the 3 allins happened almost instantaneously. I think everyone played the hand right, the set of jacks can't put anyone on a a better hand, and while waiting for the turn and then pushing is often a good idea there are just too many scary cards that can come off I think, and even against a 15 out draw he is a nice favourite because of his redraw. In the situation as it was he was getting the right odds to draw to a full house anyways.

  • Qs on the river would have looked nice. tough luck.
  • Yeah that'd be a bit too sick, even for pokerstars :D
  • Yeah, can't fault him too much. If someone's got the made flush, he's got 7 outs on the turn, and is redrawing to 10 outs on the river if he misses. Plus, assuming someone's drawing to a 4 card flush, he needs to kill thier odds right there and then.
  • Yeah, can't fault him too much.

You can't fault him at all.
