I'm heading down to CN to play some small stakes NL this week. Since it's a $100 max buy-in for the $1/$2 NL game, should I buy in at the table, or just go to the cage and ask for a rack of $1 chips?

I'm guessing the latter...

  • You ask the host when they call your name. Sometimes they want you to use the cage. Sometimes they will tell you to buy in at the table. Usually it's the cage.
  • I would get $100 in reds ($5) Its a fucking pain in the ass playing with all these white chips everywhere. You get your chips from the cashier window right beside the poker room. Sometimes the dealer will cash you in but that is very rare. It all depends how busy it is. People playing the $1/$2 NL tables dont like to waste time since the session fee is $5/30min. Get your chips before you sit down and get $90 in red and $10 in white. Thats what I do most times and it makes everyone happy.

exactly, then if you lose your chips, you can just buy from a player at the table, so as not to slow the dealer down. Thisis a reason I don't like Casino Niagara, session fee puts everyone on edge about acting quickly.
