Vegas Trip Tips?

Anyone have any tips on organizing a Vegas trip? Any particular web sites that I should be visit? I'm thinking it might be a good idea to fly out from Buffalo to avoid the air tax, anyone know any American sites to visit? I'll probably be going in October and am looking for info so I can plan my trip. Thanks

  • www.lasvegastaxi.com has some good info, but I'm not sure when was the last time they've updated their site.
  • the only site u need to use for vegas info and everything vegas is:
    www.cheapovegas.com
  • cheapovegas is the best site I know of...

remember this... when you get to the airport and are ready to leave by cab..

You do not want to get "tunneled" (this is where the cab takes you for a trip around the strip on the FREEWAY)

Tell them Swinson to Harmen if you are going to the middle of the strip. This way they will know you have been there before and will not screw you in to a 10 dollar cab ride when it really only costs around 5bucks..

    GL there

  • I've got a trip planned to Vegas in October as well. I'm flying Air Canada return for $540. Good flight times and direct is nice. October has lots of conventions going on, but I was able to get the poker rate at Bally's which shaved about $600 off the cheapest rate I was able to find online for our 9 day stay. If you commit to 4-6 hour of playing time a day, you can get the poker room rate at various casinos. In addition to Bally's, try Bellagio, Mirage, MGM Grand, etc.

    Anyways, have a great trip!
  • Bang for buck and if you do not mind being off the strip. The best place is The Orleans.. Very active poker room, nice hotel rooms and cheap food and excellent comp system for poker players. I think the poker rate is 35/night there.

This site has all the info on which poker rooms to play...lots of reviews.
  • I am going to Vegas in October and just booked my flight out of Buffalo, Southwest Air, direct flight non-stop for $216.00 US (about $280.00 Canadian), the only catch is you must fly on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday to get this rate.  You can book on their web site at www.southwestair.com   If you don't want to use a US carrier, you might want to check out WestJet as they are starting flights to Vegas in October.  Although you have to change planes in Winnipeg (at least when you fly out of Hamilton you do).   The cost was also higher than SWA, I think the same dates in October on WestJet would have been about $600.00
