The no smoking is a dream come true. It got a bit rough sitting there for hours on end with players on both sides waving cigarettes in my face. I anticipate spending a good amount of time down there since it's a 5 minute walk from my office.
edit: Wow, I was just checking out the website and the casino actually opens 2 weeks before the CNE actually starts. Too bad there won't be any NL games, but that is probably for the best considering the dealers they usually end up with. (no offense)
u only train for a few weeks, and most are immigrants or people who are jobless to begin with
I sucked back in the day lol, but now 4 years later im great, ive dealt in undergrounds and other casinos
jus take it easy on the dealers cause they are stressed out being new as it is, this is in response to someone sayin the dealers suck and couldnt do nl, lol
I agree 100%... I back them for sure... but it does get rather frustrating when you get a BRAND new dealer... that thinks they know ALL the rules and are wrong... I have worked in this industry now for 10 years.. and know the MAJORITY of the RULES.. Noone is perfect.. I am willing to admit it too when I am wrong.. GL and see yas there
I get mine every year. I think you have to pay for parking and admission the first time you go. When you are seated and playing ask a supervisor how to go about it. They will give you a paper and you will have to take it to the guy outside of the room at the computer and he will print you up a pass and such. GL
ya, the pass get's you into the ex and ontario place for the length of the ex. A little advice they tend to only give the VIP passes in the first couple days so get there early. If you get one this year they just mail them to you in the future.
and for all others there's 18 tables there this year FYI
it is taken in increments of 50 cents, rounded down if it is 4.75 etc etc
Thanks for clearing up the increment.
One final question. The rake is $0.50 per how much in the pot?
Sorry to belabor this point, but your example above suggests that the rake taken as $0.50 per $5.00 in the pot. That would be a 10% rake instead of 5%.

August 2 - Sept 5, Noon to 6am daily.
For you non-smokers:
I just called the number - someone was still there - and this year there is no smoking in the poker area.
I work there as a poker dealer/Supervisor, and thank god for the no smoke in the poker room this year
More tables though, no roulette or other games in the poker room, strictly poker
they added 4-6 more tables
Thanks, min buy in $100 for the 5-10?

I assume the rake is the same as in the past?
5/10 - 5% to $7.50
10/20 - 5% to $10.00
note.. I heard today that they bought All BRAND NEW TABLES AND CHAIRS........ (the next Bellagio) j/k
See ya at the tables.. I will be there for some of that dead money on Thursday Aug 4

Is it
$0.50 per $10,
$1 per $20 (with, I suppose, a red and a pink taken for pots over $150?)
or
$2.50 per $50?

This pass entitles you to free entry and parking for the remainder of the ex?

My post may have been unclear.
I was trying to describe 3 different methods of taking a 5%/max $7.50 rake, and was wondering which one was the method used.
What I was trying to get at is whether the rake is taken in units of $0.50, $1.00 or $2.50.
