2005 WSOP & Mr Raymer

I can't even imagine being in the zone that Raymer must be in. I find it unbelievably amazing at what he is accomplishing. The odds of him winning 2yrs in a row with the size of these playing fields is astronomical. This would be like Bjorn Borg winning 5 Wimbledon's in a row.
In order for anybody to win this year the combination of their poker skills & mental stamina will have to be on another human level...perhaps like a zen master or even YODA!
I would love to see Raymer win again. It would go down in poker history as probably the greatest accomlishment ever.

  • I can't believe the mouth has not blown up yet.
  • I'd love to see Ivey at the final table and Matasow would make for some great entertainment. Raymer is still suprising me, the guy obviously has something going on, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the top 10 either.
  • Ivey and Raymer fighting over who gets to control the final table while Matusow goes off about his giant donkey balls would definitely provide some quality entertainment :D
  • I wonder is Vegas has odds on when the mouth is going to self destruct?

  • Is it just me or has Raymer been getting some incredible cards?  I keep seeing posts about his hands at cardplayer but not so much for others so it's difficult to know.

I still have 2 horsies in the running and know they were at the same table.  How about Ivey going from 500k to over 2 million?  I have to say I looked back at my picks and thought what the frack?  Efandiari.  Esfandiari?!  I don't care they busted I should have chosen Lederer and Farha.  Sammy is one of my fave players.  I didn't go with Lederer just because he says he's better at limit!

Rob you are so right.  I really want to know if there are odds on a blowup.  Perhaps he got it all out of his system in the joint.

  • Yeah, I checked the cardplayer interviews with Raymer. He was basically saying that people were moving in on him and he would pick up AA and bust them. He is running very nicely it seems.
