first is that he was folding to any bet when he was BB unless he had a monster and the second is that I had a super tight table image always showing monsters when I went in.
Well, this still wouldn't convince me that the BB will fold.
To presume that the BB would fold, you would need to assume that the opponent will make a pretty significant tournament error in this scenario.
That is, you would need to be banking on the fact that your opponent will fail to recognize that you don't need to have a powerhouse hand to move in on him from the SB, and also fail to recognize that his own two random cards are much better than 3 to 1 to win against your (or anybody's) probable range of hands.
Don't get me wrong, your opponent may still be capable of making the error of folding his BB. But the fact that both of you have been playing tightly is not very strong evidence that he would. In fact, your opponent playing noticably more tightly than average suggests that he is probably a better poker player than average, and therefore, more likely to be able to analyze the present tournament scenario and correctly call you from the BB.
BTW, I do appologize for hijacking a perfectly good bad beat story thread by posting about poker strategy. Welcome to forum opposite-land.

My pocket Aces got cracked yesterday because I limped in pre-flop and smooth-checked the flop. My expert plays were foiled only because www.RiggedOnlinePoker.com is $(@&$* rigged, and I have a complete statistical analysis of this that I don't feel like explaining to you because you should just believe me. I mean come on. I had Aces!
I'm never playing online poker again.
Oh what the heck. I'll give online poker another shot. But I need better players to play against to improve my winning chances. Anyone have any recommendations as to what site has the most skilled opponents? I'm so good at poker that I just can't beat the chasers. I mean come on. I had Aces!

Flop KKQ
Turn 9
River A
terrypre holds QQ (Queens full of Kings)
CanuckNB holds KQ (Kings full of Queens)
mmoose (the wife) holds AK (Kings full of Aces)
Needless to say the reraising (.25/.50 limit) was capped each betting round until only one person had money left.
