Which is closest, Brantford or Rama

Will be in Mississauga next week and have always travelled up to Rama for some poker. Last time I was there some locals told me about the poker room in Brantford and how it may be a shorter drive.

Which is closer?

The players in Rama are awful. In 5-6 visits I've neverhad a losing session in 5-10 or 10-20. How is the room and wait in Brantford compared to Rama.

Thanks in advance

  • I think that Brantford would be closer to Mississauga. It may depend on exactly where in Mississauga you are talking about.

www.mapquest.ca would be able to settle things once and for all.

  • Brantord is closer than Rama if youre going from Mississauga. Brantford shouldnt take you more than an hour and a half, Rama will take you 2+ normally.

Mississauga to Brantford in an hour and a half? Step on the gas grandma...

1 hour max at speed limit, 45 minutes if you live on the edge.
  • can anybody compare the games between the two places?

5/10 games at brantford vs. 5/10 games at RAMA? How about wait times? Dealers good or bad? Rakes high or low? Topless waitresses?
  • rama dealers are weak, making many mistakes, not reading correct winning hands
    protect your cards well

    brantford dealers know their stuff
  • I agree. Last time I was at Brantford I had a dealer who was on his very first shift. He was clearly nervous but did a good job, making a few small mistakes but was gracious and genuinely thanked the players for pointing out the errors. You could see the sweat on his forehead. It didn't take long for him to loosen up. Soon he was picking up tips and cracking jokes with the players. Once he offered to switch the table to NL, as long as he could play with his chips, since he had plenty. :D

There are a couple bad dealers at Brantford but most of them are good and make sure the players enjoy themselves.
  • Can anybody compare the tournaments between Casino Rama and Brantford Charity Casino? I am planning to go to Casino Rama on Sunday, and I am considering registering for their biweekly $275 tournament. To those that have played in these tournaments, please give a review.

Does either casino have 1/2 no limit?

  • nothing like freshening a dead thread that has nothing to do with your question...

    neither spread NL cash games

Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino are the only two casinos around the GTA area that spreads no limit.
  • Thanks, westside8, for the useful reply.

I heard the Rama is going to start running a 1/2 NL $40 min/$200 Max table next month.
  • Rama will tell you that they have spread NL. I've never seen a NL game there but their info and web site says it's there.

Whenever I ask they say if there's enough demand they'll spread it. Given the wait lists for 2/5 5/10 and 10/20 I don't see it happening.
  • was at Rama last weekend ... dealer did mention about Rama starting NL games soon but still awaiting goverment/regulation clearance ! don't know what's the deal here..
  • I think that they are equidistant
