Casino Windsor trip report June 27-29
I made a trip to Windsor for work this week and decided to stop in at CW to check out the poker room. Overall the poker room is great. 15 tables in a nice quiet part of the casino away from all the noise of slot machines. I spent 2 nights playing 3/6 and $100 max buyin NL. The session fee on the NL table is highway robery at $6/30 minutes but the 10% rake at limit tables is same as anywhere else. Dealers were quite knowledgable and definately have more experience then the guys at Fallsview. CW uses auto card shufflers which I thought would suck, but overall I didnt mind it all once I got playing. No real difference really. There is no shufflers on NL tables that I saw.
There was two hands of note on NL tables:
Hand 1
I'm in mid positions with QJ offsuit and flop a ace high str8 with 2 hearts. I called a $15 bet and the turn was another heart. Guy to my right makes a $75 bet and I go all in overtop for another $40 or so. He call and flips over 67 of hearts showing a flush. I thought that was it but the river was a 5 of hearts which gave me a jack high flush and I double up.
Several hands later I'm dealt AA in mid position. THere was a $10 bet before me so I made it $20. One caller. Flop came K and 2 small cards all rainbow. I bet $15 he calls. Turn is a J, I bet $20 and he raised me to $60. I thought for about 10 seconds and went all in for about $200. He called and flipped over KJ offsuit.. River was no help and I was busted. I made 2 bad plays and got paid on one and then donated the rest on the AA hand.
Overall I think this poker room is very nice. Much better then the Casinos in Niagara Falls. It is very much like the Seneca Casino poker room in Niagara Falls, NY. I will most definately be back to CW again. I think I made about a $200 profit in 2 days. I havent played any poker in 3 months so I was a bit rusty and it was very clear I need to work on my game again.
Tonight is the Freedome Festival here in Windsor so I'll be heading to the riverfront to watch this supposedly amazing fireworks display.Â

P.S As a side note.. I had a chance to do some work at a place called Club T-Zers today and I got a back stage look at dancers getting ready for the show. There is just something about a totaly naked woman rubbing lotion all over herself in the dressing room that makes me greatfull I have this job.Â
I wouldnt reccomend this place for a night out but hey, it was free so who can complain.

While I was there they only had low limit games going.
3/6 FL 5/10 FL $100Max NL, $200 Max NL and I believe they had $500 Max NL. They might of had some Minimum games too, like 100min and 200 min. The $100 NL game is easily beatable. I saw people with some large stacks of chips and bills. I had a newbie moment so I didnt cash in as much as I could of.
