Brantford Freeroll July 16---Squeeeezed in!

Just got back from the Brantford tourney....finished 10th and squeezed my way into the July 16th freeroll (wohoo!)
I thought it was a really well run tournament, first time I have played, and will definitely give it another shot when I get the chance again.
The 1000 chip starting value seemed a little slim (even with the extra 500 via one optional rebuy), so if you don't get any chips early, you may find yourself in a grind until the add-on at the first break (2000 chips).
The slow blind structure did allow for a lot of limping early on (25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 75/150, Break & Add-on), but they really get bumped-up quick when you hit the higher levels (1000+).
So I somehow managed to time my all-ins against very weak big blind hands (actually shown 3/4o and other weak ones more than once) on virtually all my late moves, and had just enough chips to hold off the last blinds before the final 10.
I found it to be a very good tourney overall, offering $10 bounties, $5 food voucher, top 10 places paid and freeroll entry, all for a max $105....$45 entry + rebuy (optional) $20 + add-on $40
